Edo journalists have taken a decisive step by blacklisting the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State following the party’s failure to meet demands set forth by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council.
After issuing a 7-day ultimatum to the APC to apologize and address grievances stemming from an attack on journalists during the party’s primary election on February 17, 2024, the NUJ’s directive now mandates journalists to refrain from covering all APC activities until further notice.
The decision came after the APC neglected to replace damaged equipment and cover medical expenses for journalists injured during the aforementioned incident.
Council Secretary, Comrade Andy Egbon, conveyed this message in a brief statement released today.
