President Bola Tinubu has authorized the appointment of three (3) new executive commissioners to serve in the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC). Additionally, one current executive commissioner has been redeployed.
As per a statement released on Tuesday by Tinubu’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, these appointments and redeployments are subject to confirmation by the Nigerian Senate.
The newly appointed individuals are as follows:
Mr. Bashir Indabawa — NW — Executive Commissioner, Exploration &Acreage Management;
Dr. Kelechi Ofoegbu — SE — Executive Commissioner, Corporate Services &Administration (Redeployed);
Mr. Enorense Amadasu — SS — Executive Commissioner, Development &Production;
Mr. Babajide Fasina — SW—Executive Commissioner, Economic Regulation &Strategic Planning.
The President’s endorsement of this reshuffling and replacement was grounded in a well-informed evaluation of all pertinent factors within this sector, with the aim of establishing a regulatory framework and culture that thoroughly disincentivizes improper conduct while promoting diligence and adherence to rules-based business practices throughout the industry,”as stated by Ajuri Ngelale, spokesperson for Tinubu, in Tuesday’s announcement.
