Minister of State for Petroleum, Heineken Lokpobiri, has assured Nigerians that petrol will be available across the country by the weekend.
Lokpobiri made the announcement on Thursday following a meeting with Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa. The meeting, called by President Bola Tinubu, aimed to address concerns about fuel scarcity and price increases.
In remarks to State House correspondents, Lokpobiri highlighted the government’s recognition of the current challenges. “The President is deeply concerned about the difficulties Nigerians are facing, which is why he asked the Vice President to convene this meeting,” Lokpobiri said.
He assured that fuel supplies are adequate and that distribution should stabilize by the weekend. However, he noted that regional price differences may occur due to logistical issues.
The government is committed to addressing these challenges and ensuring consistent fuel availability throughout the nation.
