Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has signed into law the revised N485.63 billion Appropriation Bill, designed to facilitate developmental projects across the state.

The budget, approved by the Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA), allocates N202.65 billion for recurrent expenses and N282.99 billion for capital projects, signaling a strong focus on infrastructure and public services.

At the signing ceremony held in the Executive Council Chamber, Governor Okpebholo lauded the Assembly for its swift passage of the bill, describing it as a cornerstone for transformative governance.

“I appreciate your cooperation and the expedited passage of this bill. This collaboration sets the stage for remarkable progress in Edo State. Together, we are building a future of development and prosperity,” he said.

The event was attended by EDHA Speaker Hon. Blessing Agbebaku and other lawmakers. Agbebaku reiterated the Assembly’s dedication to supporting the administration’s developmental goals, emphasizing the importance of seamless governance.

“The 8th Assembly prioritized the passage of this appropriation law to ensure the new administration begins its projects without delay. Governance is continuous, and our commitment is to the progress of Edo State,” Agbebaku remarked.

The revised budget, initially presented on November 13, 2024, underwent accelerated deliberations, underscoring the strong partnership between the executive and legislative branches.
