Peter Obi Condemns National Grid Collapse as a “National Shame”

The 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi has slammed the recent collapse of Nigeria’s national power grid, calling it a “national shame.” The grid collapsed twice in 24 hours, with widespread outages reported. Obi, in a statement on X, criticized the leadership for failing to address the recurring power failures, which he said are hampering economic growth. He compared Nigeria’s power generation unfavorably with other African nations and urged immediate reforms in the power sector.
Obi concluded his statement by calling for urgent and comprehensive reforms in Nigeria’s power sector to prevent further setbacks and boost economic growth.
