The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) has released a new ex-depot price for petrol, affecting the amount fuel marketers must pay to lift and distribute the product to consumers across the country.
Effective from October 9, the updated prices are as follows:
Calabar (Cross River State): N1,050 per litre
Lagos State: N1,010 per litre
Port Harcourt (Rivers State): N1,045 per litre
Ogara, Koko, Warri (Delta State): N1,040 per litre
This price revision follows a hike in the pump price of petrol. In Abuja, prices have increased from N897 per litre to N1,030, while in Lagos, they rose from N885 per litre to N998. Long queues have been reported at several filling stations.
The adjustment comes amid speculation of further increases after NNPCL withdrew from its intermediary role in the Dangote Refinery deal, marking the second price hike in just over a month.
