Peace Accord Meeting Held in Oza Community Ahead of Edo State Elections

A peace accord meeting was held in Oza community, Orhionmwon East Local Government Area, Edo State, ahead of the upcoming elections. The event, which brought together men, women, and youth from the community, focused on the importance of maintaining peace during the election period.
Community leaders at the meeting emphasized that no life should be lost during the elections and cautioned against allowing anyone to be used against their fellow citizens. One of the speakers, Blessing Enabulele, recalled past instances of election-related violence in the community, which resulted in the loss of life. Enabulele urged the people to participate peacefully in the election, stating that voters should not be manipulated by politicians.
Honourable Patrick Asowienehen, Prof Aiguosatile Otoghile, Dr. Nelson Ogbemudia, and other notable figures also addressed the gathering, encouraging residents of Oza to actively engage in the election process while ensuring the safety of the community.
The meeting concluded with the signing of a peace accord by representatives of various political parties, symbolizing their collective commitment to maintaining peace during the election period
