In a groundbreaking move for the Nigerian automotive industry, Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company (IVM) has proudly introduced its first locally assembled electric vehicle. Cornel Osigwe, the Head of Communications and Corporate Affairs at IVM, took to Facebook to announce this significant achievement. The electric vehicle was crafted at IVM’s cutting-edge production hub in Nnewi, Anambra State, showcasing a remarkable advancement within the country’s automotive sector.
According to Osigwe, who test-drove the pioneering Innoson electric vehicle, the company is just getting started in its electric vehicle venture. While specific details such as pricing, production quantities, and commercial release dates remain undisclosed, Osigwe mentioned that the initial fleet of vehicles has already been sold out. Following the video post, IVM received an overwhelming response with numerous inquiries and pre-orders from eager customers interested in being among the first to own and experience the Innoson Electric Vehicle firsthand.
