Vice President Kashim Shettima has summoned key officials, including the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, and the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari, in response to the recent surge in petrol prices.
Also summoned to the meeting, held on Thursday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, was the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu. The discussions were centered on addressing the hike in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol.
The Vice President is engaging with the officials in his office at the State House as part of efforts to tackle the issue, which has sparked widespread concerns among Nigerians.
