Governor Ademola Adeleke Suspends Senior Special Assistant Over Alleged Rice Diversion

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has taken action by suspending his Senior Special Assistant on Civil Societies, Comrade Emmanuel Adebisi, amidst allegations of diverting 70 bags of rice. The suspension comes following reports from the civil society coalition in the state that the rice intended for them was never received.

According to statements from the civil society coalition’s Secretary, Comrade Olowu Emmanuel, Adebisi had purportedly collected the bags of rice under false pretenses of delivering them to the coalition’s office but failed to do so. The coalition expressed discontent by stating, “There has never been a time, since the coming of this administration, that anything meant for civil societies was delivered. Not even palliatives meant to alleviate the suffering of the people.”

In response to the allegations, Adebisi refuted the suspension claims on his verified Facebook page while maintaining his commitment to his duties. However, Governor Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, confirmed the suspension in a statement released on Wednesday. The Governor has mandated an investigation led by his Chief of Staff, Kazeem Akinleye, to look into the matter further.

The suspension of Comrade Emmanuel Adebisi remains in effect pending the outcome of the investigation, as Governor Adeleke seeks to address the allegations of rice diversion involving his former Senior Special Assistant.
