This group has been actively recruiting young Nigerians, including students through social media, urging them to stand against the EFCC’s operations, particularly in dealing with cybercrimes.
While the EFCC respects citizens’ right to protest, it is alarmed by indications pointing towards corrupt individuals under investigation using this protest as a ploy to incite national unrest. The Commission is determined to prevent any form of lawlessness, especially around its premises nationwide, and is collaborating with other security agencies to safeguard peace and security in Nigeria.
The EFCC urges parents, guardians, and educational institutions to prevent their young ones from being misled into participating in activities that may undermine the nation’s stability. The Commission emphasizes that their fight against corruption and cybercrime is crucial for securing a brighter future for Nigerian youth and preserving the country’s reputation on the global stage.
