In an unprecedented turn of events, Donald Trump, the real estate mogul and former Commander-in-Chief of the United States, has made history by becoming the first ex-president to be convicted on criminal charges. The Manhattan, New York jury, comprised of 12 citizens, found Trump guilty on all counts after a dramatic seven-week trial in Manhattan Supreme Court.

The jury unanimously concluded that Trump, aged 77, had falsified business records in 2017 by deceitfully claiming he was compensating his lawyer, Michael Cohen, for legal services when, in reality, the payments were hush money to keep Stormy Daniels silent about an alleged affair back in 2006.

As the foreman stood to deliver the verdict, the courtroom fell silent as the words “Guilty” echoed throughout, with the same solemn declaration repeated 33 times for the various counts. Trump, visibly affected by the outcome, listened intently while the jurors sealed his fate.

The trial was filled with gripping moments, including Daniels providing explicit testimony and Cohen, a convicted perjurer, taking the stand as the star witness against his former boss. Trump’s defense team attempted to discredit Cohen due to his history of lies and deceit, unraveling a narrative of betrayal and deception.

This historic conviction marks a significant milestone in US legal history, further fueling the controversy surrounding the polarizing figure of Donald Trump.
