The leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council has expressed its delight at the revitalizing of The Nigerian Observer Newspaper, heralding it as a positive development and a legacy of the present Edo State Government. The newspaper was relaunched on Monday November 13, 2023.
The union’s Chairman and Secretary, Comrade Festus Alenkhe and Comrade Andy Egbon respectively, in a letter of commendation addressed to Governor Godwin Obaseki praised him for his efforts in rejuvenating the newspaper’s brand and ensuring it maintains relevance in the digital age.
“Your Excellency, we at the NUJ Edo State Council are delighted to express our heartfelt congratulations to you on the successful revitalizing of The Nigerian Observer Newspaper,” the letter states. “Your administration has shown an unwavering commitment towards the betterment of the state, and this relaunch is a clear demonstration of this commitment.”
The Nigerian Observer Newspaper has claimed its rightful place in the Nigerian newspaper industry through its revitalizing stated the Edo NUJ.
The union noted that The Nigerian Observer, at a certain juncture in history, transcended its regional origins to become the preeminent publication within the Nigerian newspaper industry.
It was also noted that “The Nigerian Observer”has fostered the development of numerous distinguished journalists in Nigeria, surpassing any other newspaper in the country. The publication is confident that Nigerians will take pride in its revamped appearance.
