Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has taken a significant step towards improving drug and substance abuse news reports in the state.

An international NGO in collaboration with Union is sponsoring a training for 40 journalists on Drug and Substance Abuse, Drug Harm Reduction Programme and People who use Drugs.

The training, slated for Wednesday, November 1, 2023, will be held at the NUJ Press Centre, No. 1 Sir Gabriel Igbinedion Way, GRA, Benin City, starting at 9 am.

The training will serve as a platform for journalists to deepen their expertise, and to acquire more knowledge about relevant topics in the field.

The highlight of the training will be the presentation of certificates to participants, signifying the importance of the occasion and the value of the training to those who will take part in it.

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Edo State Council, is grateful to the international NGO for supporting this important training programme, and looks forward to more collaborations in the future to promote professionalism and excellence in journalism.
