Omah Lay, a popular Nigerian artiste, has opened up about how his sudden fame impacted his mental health. During the latest episode of the Afrobeats Podcast, the “Soso Crooner” admitted that he initially struggled with fame but eventually found balance.
He shared that the sudden jump to fame placed him in a bad mental state as he tried to navigate his newfound stardom. Omah Lay went on to add that with time, he became more comfortable and learned to run his race at his own pace.
He revealed that there was immense pressure as he did not expect to transition from working on his music in a makeshift studio to being a global superstar overnight. Omah Lay likened the transition to being suddenly thrust into the limelight without any warning or preparation.
