The Nigerian Bar Association, Aba branch denys controversial Nigerian Lawyer and social media personality, Ifunanya Excel Grant, also known online as “Baddest Lawyer,” as a member of the association.
This was revealed on Tuesday by a statement by the NBA Aba Branch Chairman, Innocent O. Egwu, Esq., and the Secretary Mazi K.C. Okoro.
It has come to our awareness that Miss Ifunanya Excel Grant, who is popularly known as “the baddest lawyer” on social media, has been identified as a member of our Nigerian Bar Association through various print and social media reports.

Currently, she is being petitioned by the NBA to appear before the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee due to complaints revolving around her posting of pictures and videos of herself unclad and smoking marijuana on social media. As a result, the NBA has requested that Miss Grant be assigned to the Aba Branch of the NBA said the Chairman.
We wish to assert unequivocally that Miss Ifunanya Excel Grant is not affiliated with the NBA, Aba Branch, and she is entirely unknown to its members. The dissemination of false information by the NBA is unacceptable to our branch, and we implore them to rectify their records.

We do not believe that this misattribution of Miss Grant’s membership was a deliberate attempt to cast aspersions on the Aba Branch or subject its members to public condemnation. Although we commend the efforts of our esteemed association, the NBA, in purging unscrupulous practitioners from our profession, we urge those responsible for such matters to exercise great care in ensuring that innocent and law-abiding individuals are never unwittingly tainted with ill-repute before the general public.
