On August 14, 2023, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) lost six personnel during an evacuation mission in Niger State. As reported by NTA, the names of the deceased crew members were disclosed during a condolence visit to their family members in Port Harcourt.
Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, the chief of the Air Staff, promised to continue honoring the memory of the personnel while supporting their loved ones. The CAS also visited the NAF unit and commiserated with the other personnel who lost their colleagues.
The crew members who lost their lives during the mission were Flight Lieutenant Adamu Ibrahim, Flight Lieutenant Anthony Duryumus, Lance Corporal Alaribe Daniel, and Lance Corporal Briggs Stephen Peter. Additionally, Corporal Jauro Amos and Lance Corporal Abdulrahman Abubakar, both NAF Regiment personnel, also lost their lives.
We honor and remember the bravery and sacrifice of those who lost their lives in the line of duty.
